Synopsis
The story follows a guy named Joe who works at a bookstore and one day when he was at work, Guinevere Beck comes into purchase books and he pretty much becomes obsessed with her. He gets her name from the credit card she used for payment. He finds her on facebook and twitter and cyberstalked her, which was pretty easy since she post her whole life on social media,  telling Joe everything he needs to know: she is simply Beck to her friends, she went to Brown University, she lives on Bank Street, and she’ll be at a bar in Brooklyn tonight—the perfect place for a “chance” meeting.

As Joe invisibly and obsessively takes control of Beck’s life, he orchestrates a series of events to ensure Beck finds herself in his waiting arms. Moving from stalker to boyfriend, Joe transforms himself into Beck’s perfect man, all while quietly removing the obstacles that stand in their way—even if it means murder.

My Thoughts
You, tells the chilling and dark account of the narrator Joe. Joe is a complete stalker, obsessed with Beck, at first sight, he cyberstalks her, first finding out where she lives, where he goes regularly to watch her through her apartment window from across the street.

You immediately draw the readers into Joe’s twisted mindset. Joe views everything that Beck does as a sign that she must want him or is playing hard to get, from being polite to him in the bookstore, not mentioning him on twitter, to stealing her phone, to following her to another city an so, so much more……..creepy much!!!

Beck is not a character I particularly like that much…..which is weird since she is supposed to be the victim in all this….right????
She is shallow, but insecure, erratic and a little unstable……..actually to think about it, I didn't like any of the characters. Joe is a psychopath, Benji is a drug addict, Peach is a self-absorbing witch, her friends were backstabbing and gossipy. Ethan was basically the only good character, even the owner for the bookstore, even though he was old and was not mentioned much in the book, he still didn’t seem that nice of a person.

The writing style in this book was so good that even though Joe was such a psycho, I felt empathy for him at times, that I have to remind myself that he is the bad guy…….brilliant Caroline Kepnes...just brilliant.

You will be a tv series on Lifetime and should premiere in September…..September 9,2018 to be exact so I won’t go into details of the plot, but I can't wait to see how this book comes to life onscreen.
If you have not read his one yet, go pick it up so we can watch the tv series together….lol

Happy Reading
